Gold Coasters with a disability have been able to continue to access crucial support and services during COVID-19, thanks to the quick-thinking team behind Kynd.
When restrictions started coming into place, the Gold Coast based online platform and mobile app, which simplifies NDIS support and disability work, rapidly launched additional virtual services for people with disability, NDIS Participants and Support Workers.
Kynd founder Michael Metcalfe told myGC the new services include remote support (such as video support and phone check-ins) and indirect support (for non-contact assistance like delivering groceries and medications).

“We have taken the world of physical, one-on-one support into a virtual world of support, with options via video and options that aren’t necessarily face to face,” he said.
“We’ve been amazed by the response. There’s a lot more people looking to support work as a new form of income to help people in their area, and people are constantly needing that support.
“We look forward to continuing both remote support and non-contact support post COVID-19 as the restrictions ease, because it makes everything so convenient for both people and for families to either get the work they need and continue the support they need.”
