On International Surfing Day, a Gold Coast surf legend is reminding locals to continue to protect and look after our local beaches.
Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew today issued a callout to locals to do their part help to maintain the Gold Coast’s spectacular beaches and surf breaks.
“This place has to be preserved. This is our natural asset, it’s why people are drawn here,” he said.

Global Wave Ambassador Ellie J Brooks backed Rabbit’s sentiment, telling myGC she believed the younger generation should be encouraged to look after the environment.
“If you see a bit of rubbish, pick it up. W don’t need plastic water bottles – just don’t use them.” she said.
