WATCH: Man’s emotional coronavirus poem gives insight into the world after pandemic

A coronavirus bedtime story has gone viral around the world, and for good reason.

Poet and filmmaker Tom Roberts shared the heartwarming clip, which paints a positive picture of what the world is going to be like after the pandemic, to social media on April 29.

Since sharing the poem, titled “The Great Realisation”, Roberts has gained the attention of millions of people around the world including celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore.

It’s already racked up more than 24 million views across both Facebook and YouTube, and after watching the clip for yourself, it’s not hard to see why it’s tugging on the heart strings of those around the globe.

In the short video, Roberts speaks to a young child about what the world was like before the virus hit.

“We swapped the grass for tarmac, shrunk the parks till there were none” he says in one part of the poem.

He then goes on to explain how the virus lockdown, which forced people to stay at home, made them realise what was truly important.

If there’s one good thing to come out of the pandemic, it’s this feel-good poem.

Thank you, Tom.
