WATCH: Mary Poppins set to return to the big screen
Mary Poppins will be flying into cinemas next year, with a sequel to the 1964 classic set to hit screens in time for Christmas 2018.
Emily Blunt will play the beloved nanny in Mary Poppins Returns, with Disney releasing a clip at the D23 Expo on Saturday of the British actress dressed up as the character.
Blunt also took to the stage at the expo, where she said taking on the role was “daunting”.
“No-one is ever going to out-Julie Julie Andrews. She’s just unbelievable,” Blunt said.

In the sequel, Poppins is reunited with Jane and Michael Banks, who are now adults with children of their own.
Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Emily Mortimer will also appear in the film, and Dick Van Dyke, who starred in the original movie as Bert, is also rumoured to be taking on a cameo role.
