Where to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks on the Gold Coast
THE Gold Coast will ring in the new year with a bang tonight, with close to a dozen dazzling firework displays set to light up the city.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to vantage points right across the Coast to bid a final farewell to 2016.
Last year, more than 50,000 revelers gathered on the beach to ring in the new year in Surfers Paradise. Below is a full list of where you can watch the fireworks.
BROADBEACH
- Kurrawa Park
- Fireworks at 8pm and midnight
SOUTHPORT
- Broadwater Parklands
- Food Truck Fest from 5pm to 9pm
- Fireworks at 9pm
ORMEAU
- Brien Harris Oval, Orange Mountain Road
- Live music, carnival rides, food and drink stalls from 5pm to 9pm
- Fireworks at 9pm
COOMERA
- Viney Park, 1 Yaun Street
- Rides, sideshow ally, live entertainment, kids disco, food and drink stalls from 5pm to 9.30pm.
- Fireworks at 9.30pm.
CURRUMBIN CREEK
- Duringan Street
- Fireworks at midnight
KIRRA
- North Kirra Surf Life Saving Club, Pacific Parade
- Barbecue, drinks, glow sticks, jumping castle, raffles from 5pm to 7.30pm
- Fireworks at 7.30pm
PARADISE POINT
- Paradise Point Parklands, The Esplanade
- Live music, fire twirlers, clowns
- Fireworks (synchronised to music) at 9pm
SURFERS PARADISE
