Do you know a hard working individual or organisation striving to make our city safe?
Mayor Tom Tate has today issued a call out for Gold Coasters to nominate “everyday heroes” for the Safer Suburbs Awards.
The biennial awards recognise residents and organisations who have made an effort to create a safer city in which to live, learn, work and play.

Cr Tate said the awards were a chance to show appreciation for the contribution these businesses and individuals make to create a safe city. “Safe suburbs create stronger communities so if you know an individual or group who has made a difference, please take the time to nominate them for the 2017 Safer Suburbs Awards,” he said.
There are four award categories: individual, not-for-profit group, business and project. A meritorious award will also be presented to one nominee who stands out from the pack.
Nominations are open until October 2nd, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 1st. Nomination forms are available at cityofgoldcoast.com.au/safersuburbsawards or from City Customer Service Centres or Libraries.
