ONE person has been killed and dozens more hospitalised after a hotel being built in New Orleans partially collapsed.
Photos posted on the New Orleans fire department Twitter show the under-construction building in pieces, with debris strewn across the road.
New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell says three people are still missing, with a major rescue operation now underway.

“The building is unstable so a collapse is still possible.. further collapse of the building,” Superintendent McConnell said.
“Our biggest fear right now is the crane as it weighs several tons.”
It’s understood 18 people have been rushed to hospital after being injured in the incident, however their conditions are unknown at this stage.
Authorities are on scene working to establish what caused the building, reported by local media to be the Hard Rock Hotel, to collapse.
