A 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both from Mermaid Waters, were arrested at the scene.
They have since been charged with unlawfully possessing weapons, possessing dangerous drugs, possession of tainted property and possession of explosives (ammunition).
Both men are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said officers will continue to crack down on people possessing dangerous drugs and firearms across the city.
“The possession of dangerous drugs and firearms is a dangerous combination that presents significant risk to police, the community and the persons involved,” he said.
“We will continue to work with the community to reduce such risks and disrupt such behaviour.”
