A Queensland man has been arrested over the alleged horrific sexual abuse of boys, aged 12 and 13, at a Penrith boys’ home over 30 years ago.
The arrest is the first of Strike Force Eckersley, which was established by the Nepean Police Area Command in 2016 following complaints made to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Detectives are primarily focused on the alleged abuse of children at the Daruk Training School at Berkshire Park between 1965 and 1985.

Acting on a formal complaint, strike force officers traveled to Brisbane to arrest a 67-year-old Jindalee man late last month.
The man was extradited to New South Wales to face the Penrith Local Court on Friday March 2, charged with 19 historical charges including indecent assault and buggery.
The strike force continues to investigate a range of other matters.
