WATCH: What riding The Big Wedgie is really like

If you have cruised past Broadwater Parklands recently, you would have seen the The Big Wedgie. Standing 18.2 metres tall, the huge yellow, blue and red inflatable water slide is not hard to spot.

The thrill ride, which has a world record for being the tallest and most extreme standalone inflatable water slide in the world, has set up shop at Mitchell Park this summer for Gold Coasters to enjoy or freak out over!

“It has a 55 degree drop which means it’s a gravity drop,” the ride’s creator Peter Rimington told myGC. “The Gold Coast is the number 1 place in Australia for fun, and what more fun could you have than sliding down this and ending up with a great big wedgie.”

We were lucky enough to test out the ride and boy does it live it up to its name – delivering too many wedgies to count. Watch below:

The Big Wedgie is delivering fun at Mitchell Park, Southport everyday (weather permitting) from 9am-6pm. It will be open all summer long right up to February 5 2017, with tickets starting at just $12.

For those too scared to tackle the big ride, there 2 other slide options available – the less extreme Just Right Wedgie and the kids ride The Little Wedgie. And coming soon, The Big Chucka will be opening for locals wanting another adrenaline rush.
