Australia Fair’s $25 million revitalisation is well underway, with construction progressing both inside and outside of the shopping centre.

Due to be completed in time for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Stage 1 of the redevelopment includes an exterior facelift, new ceilings, lighting and column treatments, an expansion of Coles into the former outdoor food court and the addition of new specialty stores and kiosks.

Some of the new tenants expected to join the retail offering at Australia Fair include Colette by Colette Hayman, LiquorLand, Zaia Handbags, U Grill, Green Valley Butcher, Joy Stylist, and Clearskincare Clinics, while several existing traders are relocating or undergoing a fresh fit-out to complement the Centre’s upgrades.

Australia Fair general manager Ramon Otten said more tenancy announcements were in the pipeline as the Centre’s revitalisation continued. “We are excited to see the transformation progressing so well and look forward to unveiling a vibrant and contemporary shopping experience to the public ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games,” he said.

“It comes at an exciting time for Southport as it undergoes widespread renewal and reasserts itself as the Gold Coast’s traditional CBD.”
