Gold Coasters, get ready to enjoy four mesmerising nights of light, colour and creativity in Southport!
The inaugural BIG CITY LIGHTS* festival opens tonight from 6pm, with rooftops, building facades, alleyways, carparks and shopfronts across the Gold Coast CBD to come alive with colourful creations.
The festival will feature 10 world premieres and 18 Queensland premieres of stunning, large-scale digital works and 3D-mapping from over 70 artists and creatives working in the fields of light, installation, sound, architecture and digital design.

Hospitality venues across the precinct, including Mr P.P.’s Deli & Rooftop, Vinnie’s Dive Bar and Last Night on Earth, will also host key installations and a vibrant line-up of live music programming.

CEO of Placemakers* Gold Coast and Artistic Director for BIG CITY LIGHTS*, Rosie Dennis, said locals don’t want to miss this free-for-everyone, self-guided festival.
“Rug up, bring your family and your friends and experience a different side of Southport these school holidays,” she said.
“Discover installations within the laneways, be dwarfed by large-scale projections and interact with artworks as BIG CITY LIGHTS* takes over Southport CBD,” she said.
