GOLD COASTERS have been treated to a spectacular lunar display over the last few nights, with a super moon lighting up the winter sky.
A super moon happens when a full moon is positioned closest to the Earth, making it much larger and brighter than usual.
Stargazers were able to witness the super moon on Sunday and on Monday night.

The first super moon of the year happened last month on July 12, and the final super moon of 2014 will appear on September 9.
