WATCH: St Hilda’s girls chop their locks to support kids
A number of Year 12 St Hilda’s students are rocking short hairstyles after cutting off their luscious locks for charity.
During a school assembly on Wednesday, 37 students had their hair cut to raise funds for Variety – The Children’s Charity.
Each student lobbed off around 8 inches of hair, which was collected by Sustainable Salons to make wigs for those who have lost hair due to a medical condition such as alopecia.
For several months, the group of students have been growing their hair whilst raising over $21,000 for Variety, who will use the funds to provide Aussie kids with practical equipment, programs and experiences.
