A teenage girl has been saved from possible serious injury after a mishap on an amusement park ride in the US.
The 14-year-old was heard screaming as she dangled from a chair lift at the Six Flags Amusement Park in New York on Saturday night.
She had been sharing the ride with her brother when she somehow slipped forward and faced a plunge of more than seven-metres.

Good Samaritans rushed to help, locking arms with one another and urging her to drop down to them.
She eventually let go and landed safely in the arms of other park patrons and escaped serious injury, but was treated by paramedics at the scene.
The ride was closed and will undergo a thorough maintenance check.
