WATCH: Gunman storms Gold Coast bottle shop

POLICE have released CCTV footage showing the moment a gunman stormed a bottle shop on the Gold Coast.

It was just after 7.30pm on Monday when the offender burst into the Currumbin Waters store on Bienvenue Drive.

Police said the offender stormed into the store and threatened the employee with a handgun while making demands.


CCTV shows the masked offender brandishing the gun before walking up to a male employee and pointing it at him.

The offender is then seen in the footage stuffing a black bag with stacks of cash from the till.

Police said the armed offender also grabbed several packets of cigarettes before fleeing.

Thankfully, no one was physically injured during the hold-up.

Gold Coast Police today released CCTV footage of the incident with the hope someone may recognise the offender.

They’re described as being Caucasian in appearance and around 170cm tall.

The offender was wearing dark clothes and a black balaclava at the time, police said.
