A man has been charged with online child procurement after he was caught out by undercover detectives posing as a 14-year-old boy.
The 34-year-old man was arrested by detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit at Petersham Railway Station about 10.30am today.
Police will allege in court the man believed he was speaking to a 14-year-old boy and engaged in sexually-explicit conversations with the child and made arrangements to meet in person.

After his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at a property nearby, and seized a number of items for forensic examination.
The man was taken to Marrickville Police Station and charged with use carriage service to procure persons under 16.
He was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court later today.
