While the recent lockdowns saw The Star Gold Coast forced to close its doors to patrons, behind the scenes, the property’s team have been working harder than ever.
The Star Gold Coast COO Jess Mellor told myGC they used the time to forward plan, with some new venues and events coming soon.
“We’ve got a lot going on on our little island, which is really exciting,” she said.

“Every time we go into lockdown it’s disruptive and it’s really sad to see our property so quiet. But every time we bounce straight back. It gives us some time to think about how we can come back even better and create new experiences for our guests, and we have plenty in the pipeline, so lots of work to do, even when we were in lockdown.”
As for what’s to come, Ms Mellor said the highly-anticipated new Atrium Bar will open to patrons in the next few weeks.
“This is going to be a real, kind of nostalgic return to the glory days of the Atrium Bar,” she said.
“We’ve got a new restaurant concept coming, you’ll see some more news about that in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
“And our tower is nearly to the top, so we are really excited to have a topping out party in the next few weeks for that as well.”
Ms Mellor told myGC they have managed to reschedule all cancelled events, as well as add some new ones to the already jam-packed events.
