Australian employers across a range of industries including banking, finance, healthcare, law, retail, defence and government are desperate for qualified cyber security professionals.
With hacking attacks costing the country approximately $1 billion a year, the demand for employees with the technical skills needed to protect organisations against malicious cyber activity has never been higher.
TAFE Queensland Cyber Security teacher Montanna Chisnell said students who study a Certificate IV in Cyber Security will ensure they enter the job market with highly sought-after expertise.

“It’s such an interesting course, there are so many growing job opportunities. There are so many ethical issues that are associated that are so interesting to learn about,” she told myGC.
Student Lucian Grioli told myGC she always had a passion to study cyber security.
“The reason I chose TAFE is because it’s really hands on. The first day we were on our virtual boxes, we get to use servers and routers. You learn real world applications for the real world at TAFE,” she said.
“It’s a great industry for females, anyone can do cyber security, it doesn’t matter who you are.”
