WATCH | Would-be thief walks off empty-handed after trying to rob Gold Coast servo

Police have revealed footage of a failed armed robbery attempt at a Southport service station.

The man walked into a servo on Ferry Road on Friday 21 June, pulling out a knife as he walked into the business.

He approached the attendant, a 42-year-old woman and demanded just one packet of cigarettes.

She essentially said ‘no’, and triggered the alarm, before the dejected thief turned around and walked off empty-handed.

The woman was not injured in the incident.

Police are still looking for the man in the video below, who they say will be able to assist with investigations.

He is described as Caucasian, aged in his early 20’s, with dark eyes, dark hair and a small moustache. He was last seen wearing an abstract geometric print black and white hooded jumper, blue jeans and brown shoes.
