“We are smoking meth” Australia Post apologises for ‘offensive’ message

The Australia Post website appears to have been the target of hackers after an “offensive” message was posted online.

Shocked customers took to social media on Saturday after noticing the bizarre message, which read “We are smoking meth”.

The statement was written underneath the ‘latest news’ section on the official Australia Post website.

“Someone is giving AP some payback. I spat my coffee all over my keyboard!” one person commented.

The message was removed about an hour later, with a company spokesperson apologising for the “offensive post”.

“We apologise to our customers for the unauthorised offensive post,” an Australia Post spokesperson told 7NEWS.

“The offending message has been removed and we have disabled the account that posted it.”
