Well-known photographer, his wife and friend killed in NSW chopper crash

Photographer Richard Green, his wife Carolyn and their friend John Davis have all been killed in a helicopter crash in the NSW’s Hunter region.

Investigators will continue working to retrieve their bodies on Tuesday after the helicopter wreckage was found on Monday night on mountainous terrain in the Watagans National Park.

The trio were last seen when the Greens’ private helicopter took off from Breeza, south of Tamworth, on Saturday evening.

They had been travelling from a mining protest to northern Sydney on a flight that should have taken two hours.

No mayday calls or emergency beacons were detected on Saturday, when severe storms hit the Hunter region.

They were travelling with Mr Davis, who has been described in media reports as a renowned documentary maker.
