Wet weather causing havoc on Gold Coast roads

One person has been taken to hospital and two others have been assessed by paramedics following two separate traffic accidents on the Gold Coast.

The first prang occurred just after 12.30pm on the Gold Coast Highway at Surfers Paradise.

A woman aged in her 50s was injured in the collision. She was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.


An hour later, paramedics were called to a second crash at Parkwood.

Two cars came to grief in the rain on Napper Road, near where it meets Parkwood Boulevard and Captain Cook Drive.

Two people were assessed at the scene, however did not require transport to hospital.

Delays are being experienced through the area in all directions.

Motorists are being urged to take it easy in the wet weather with rain continuing to fall on the Gold Coast.
