Wet weather sends Gold Coast drivers into a spin

Wet weather seems to be causing havoc for motorists on the Gold Coast this afternoon, with four separate crashes all within two hours.

Emergency crews are currently at the scene of a single-vehicle crash northbound on the Pacific Motorway at Arundel.

It happened just after the Smith Street Overpass around 3.00pm, with the vehicle reportedly colliding with a barrier.


Traffic lights are also out at the intersection of Bundall Road and Slatyer Avenue in Surfers Paradise after a car crashed into the traffic post.

It happened northbound towards Southport around 2.15pm.

Multiple police crews are on scene directing traffic, with motorists are being urged to drive with caution in the area.

Meanwhile, one person has been taken to Tweed Heads Hospital in a stable condition after smashing into a tree on Tallebudgera Connection Road around 1.00pm.

It happened around the same time two cars collided at the intersection of Pimpama Jacobs Well Road and Behms Road in Jacobs Well.

A woman in her 60s was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with minor abdominal injuries.
