Why Vegemite could be banned from some supermarkets

AUSSIES love it on toast with a bit of butter, or even alongside some ‘avo’, but it seems a new trend could see Vegemite taken from some supermarket shelves.

The Abbott Government is looking at having ‘dry towns’ in remote communities restrict the sale of the popular Australian spread as some people are using it to brew alcohol.

It’s believed young children are even falling victim as the yeast product is used to produce large quantities of alcohol in household bathtubs.
