If you see dozens of Queensland Surf Lifeguards down at Tallebudgera Creek this morning – don’t be alarmed.
Tallebudgera Creek lifeguards are being put through their paces and taking part in a major fitness proficiency testing operation from 8.00am.
It’s understood the exercise will see the lifesavers undertake a number of mock rescue operations, including water-based rescues, first aid and advanced resuscitation over a number of hours.

“A range of complex rescue scenarios will test guards’ physical and mental capabilities, ensuring each maintains a high level of fitness and emergency care skills,” Surf Life Saving Qld said.
According to SLSQ, the testing is a requirement for guards employed by the Australian Lifeguard Service.
