THE wife of a millionaire mining boss has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for defrauding Centrelink over eight years.
Julie Bohannan is alleged to have received $62,000 of welfare she wasn’t entitled to.
Bohannan admitted to repeatedly deceiving and lying to Centrelink about her surname, relationship status and her ownership of assets.

The 42-year-old received a total of $62,709.85 between 2001 and 2009, during that time she married mining executive Hamish Bohannan who had a taxable income of more than $3.7 million.
The court heard Julie Bohannan had paid back all the money.
Bohannan will have to serve nine months in prison before being eligible for parole.
