A bush-stone curlew is lucky to be alive after she was found with a hook and fishing line wrapped around her beak and body.
Dr Michael Pyne said Autumn was almost dead when she was brought in to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. “She couldn’t move and she was incredibly dehydrated and emaciated. It was almost difficult to tell if she was alive at the time.”
“She has made an incredible recovery and has put on 50 percent of her body weight. She is a really lucky bird to still be alive.”
