An 8-week-old juvenile white-belly sea eagle is recovering in the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, after he was found weak and frail.
According to head vet Michael Pyne, Eddie the eagle was starving to death when he arrived at the hospital.
“Our goal here is to get [him] fed up, get some strength back into him to get him back out to his parents so they can do the hard work and look after him. It’s important with any baby birds to get them back with their parents. They have to learn to fish – mum and dad have to teach him how to fish because if he doesn’t learn he is in big trouble.”
