Wildlife Wednesday: Henry the Echidna
Henry the Echidna has had a lucky escape after being clipped by a car on the Gold Coast.
Dr Michael Pyne told myGC Henry was brought into the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital for a check-up.
“He is very lucky, it could have been a lot worse. Â He was just a little bruised and a bit sore – he is doing well and will be released shortly,” he said.
Dr Pyne said Gold Coasters should always bring echidnas into the hospital if they think they have been hit by a car or attacked by a dog.
“Don’t assume an echidna doesn’t have an injury because you can’t see anything obvious. A lot of injuries are internal with these guys.”
