Willy Wonka star Gene Wilder dies aged 83
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory star, Gene Wilder, has passed away, aged 83.
The frizzy haired Wilder played Willy in the 1970’s hit movie. He died from complications from Alzheimer’s disease in Stamford, Connecticut.
He was nominated for two Academy Awards for his roles in 1968 classic The Producers.
Gene also had roles in The Producers and Blazing Saddles.
Celebrities, including Director Mel Brooks, expressed their condolences on Twitter when the news broke.
