The winner of MasterChef Australia 2017 has been crowned!

Diana Chan has been crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia for 2017!

After one of the toughest three-round challenges ever seen across the shows nine seasons, Diana beat fellow finalist Ben Ungermann by just one point, securing victory with a grand total of 90.

The 29-year-old from Victoria not only takes home the MasterChef Australia title and trophy, but also a cash prize of $250,000 to kick-start her food dream and a monthly column in Australia’s leading premium food magazine, Delicious.

“This experience is something money cannot buy and I cherish every second of it,” an emotional Diana said.

“I have been inundated with some amazing opportunities and it’s time for me to take some time out and filter through them to make sure I pick the one that matches my goals.

“My ultimate goal is to open my fresh, casual restaurant serving wholesome food with fusion flavours. I have also had an incredible opportunity to boost tourism in my home country, Malaysia. I would also love to work with kids and teach them about the provenance of food.”

Runner-up Ben was awarded $40,000 courtesy of Canstar to also help him achieve his food dream of opening a Dutch Restaurant, offering an “updated take on traditional Dutch cuisine.
