A KEY witness in the murder case of Gold Coast man Max Waller has been ordered to give evidence in person despite concerns for his safety.
Regan Dreckmeyer, an alleged associate of one of the accused, wanted to give evidence via video-link but a magistrate ruled he must appear in person at the committal hearing.
Mr Waller, 28, was stabbed to death outside the Carmel by the Sea Apartments at Broadbeach on June 23, 2013.
