Witnesses to fatal motorbike crash urged to come forward

A GOLD Coast man has died following an horrific motorcycle accident on Sunday evening.

Police said early information suggested the motorcycle was travelling south on Bundall Road, Bundall at around 6.20pm when it left the road and collided with a light pole in the centre median strip.

The 50-year-old male rider from Benowa was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The intersection of Bundall Road and Boomerang Crescent was closed to all traffic for almost three hours as specialist police examined the area, trying to piece together the final moments leading up to the accident.

There are reports the rider may have been travelling at high speed between traffic at the time of the accident.
