Woman, 52, placed in headlock, indecently assaulted by stranger who jumped in her car

A WOMAN has been left shaking in shock after being placed in a headlock and indecently assaulted by a stranger who jumped into her car north of Brisbane.

The 52-year-old woman was alone, sitting in her car on Duffield Road at Margate when a man allegedly walked up, jumped inside and grabbed her around the throat about 11am on Wednesday.

While holding the woman in a headlock, the man allegedly began indecently assaulting her before a member of the public saw what was happening and yelled at the man to stop.

That’s when it’s alleged the man ran off and the woman drove away and called police.

The man was found loitering around the intersection of Duffield Road and Victoria Avenue about 11.30.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of committing an indecent act, and one count each of common assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, enter premises and obstruct police.

The man was due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today. He did not know the woman.
