Woman, 62, charged after police stumble across ‘drug car’ in Surfers

A 62-YEAR-OLD woman is facing serious charges after police found a variety of dangerous drugs stashed in her illegally parked car in Surfers Paradise.

It’s alleged police located the woman’s vehicle parked illegally on Beach Road while conducting patrols around 6pm on Friday.

During a search of the vehicle, officers allege they located a quantity of cannabis, MDMA, methamphetamine, cash and other items.

Police say they also found a quantity of cannabis during a subsequent search of a home in Southport.

The woman was charged with three counts each of trafficking dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing property obtained from trafficking dangerous drug and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

She appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday and is scheduled to reappear on September 12.
