AN elderly woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was hit by a car in Sydney this morning.
Police say the 76-year-old was struck by a Hyundai i30 at Carlingford, in the city’s northeast, around 7.30am.
It’s believed the woman was crossing the intersection of Pennant Hills Rd and Westminster Ave when she was hit.

The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital.
She was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition, police said.
The man behind the wheel of the car was taken uninjured to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area as delays exist whilst police investigate the incident.
