Woman, 71, attacked with knife in NSW home invasion
A WOMAN has been arrested and charged, accused of attacking a 71-year-old woman with a knife during a crazed home invasion in Sydney’s south-east.
Police received multiple triple zero calls alerting them to a woman armed with a knife at a unit block on Mirrabooka Crescent in Little Bay around 5pm yesterday.
The 32-year-old woman allegedly forced her way into the 71-year-old woman’s apartment and threatened her with a knife before assaulting the victim and destroying her property.
As police arrived at the address, the female intruder tried running away from the scene. She was arrested a short distance away.
The elderly woman was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where police said she was treated for “minor injuries”.
The 32-year-old woman was taken to Maroubra Police Station for questioning.
She has since been charged with aggravated break and enter and being armed with intent to commit a serious indictable offence.
The woman was refused bail to appear before Waverly Local Court today.
