A 72-YEAR-OLD woman has been subjected to a truly terrifying sex attack in Central Queensland.
A 22-year-old man is accused of breaking into the woman’s Rockhampton home around 9.15am on Thursday.
Once inside, the man allegedly detained the woman and sexually assaulted her for two terrifying hours.

After the attack, the 22-year-old man robbed the elderly woman and fled the house on foot.
Police said the man did not know his victim and appeared to have selected the house at random.
Traumatised, the elderly woman called police who swooped on the area in the hunt for her attacker.
After speaking with witnesses who claimed to have seen the man run from the woman’s house, officers found him hiding in an industrial bin on a nearby street.
In a desperate last-minute attempt to escape, the man allegedly punched an officer in the face and again fled on foot.
The dog squad tracked the man to a nearby house where he was found cowering under a blanket.
Police Dog ‘Troll’ was released to catch the man and ensure the safety of arresting officers.
He was taken into custody and transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital for treatment to a dog bite.
Once treated, the young man was taken to the local police station where he was connected to a string of recent break-ins.
He has since been charged with 32 serious offences, including sexual assault, deprivation of liberty, robbery with violence, 12 counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, and seven counts of attempted burglary.
He was also charged with two counts each of seriously assaulting and obstructing police.
The 22-year-old is due to front Rockhampton Magistrates Court on May 24.
