AN elderly woman has been killed in a head-on crash at Moss Vale, in the New South Wales Southern Highlands.
Police said the 79-year-old woman was sitting in the back of a Toyota which collided head-on with a Mercedes on Nowra Road just before 3pm on Tuesday.
The elderly woman died at the scene while the driver of the Toyota, a 57-year-old man, and his 71-year-old front-seat passenger were taken to hospital with only minor injuries.

The 68-year-old man behind the wheel of the Mercedes was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers from the Lake Illawarra Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. Nowra Road was closed for six hours while the scene was examined.
