Woman, 82, assaulted in violent home invasion

AN 82-YEAR-OLD woman has been assaulted during a violent home invasion in country NSW.

The elderly woman was attacked in her own home in Tamworth, in the state’s north on Wednesday morning.

It’s alleged two intruders broke into her Petra Ave home about 5.10am, gaining entry through the rear door.


The offenders demanded money from the woman before assault her, and ransacking her home.

The cowards made off with cash and an Apple iPad, police said.

Officers from Oxley Police District attended the scene and are investigating the incident.
