Woman accused of importing almost $2m worth of ‘ice’
A WOMAN has been charged with importing almost $2 million worth of ice into Australia, hidden in a ceramic vase.
Border Force officers allegedly uncovered 2.52kg of the drug concealed within a parcel sent from the USA on April 30.
Following investigations, the 40-year-old woman was arrested over the $1.9 million haul in Kingsford on Tuesday.
The woman was taken to the local police station where she was formally charged with importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug.
Following her arrest, police executed a search warrant at a home in Kingsford where they seized $300,000 cash, electronic storage devices, and documentation.
The woman was remanded in custody overnight and was to appear in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.
