Woman airlifted to hospital after being hit by bus

A woman has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a bus at Anna Bay in NSW.

Police said that just after 4.15pm yesterday, emergency services raced to Gan Gan Road after receiving reports a woman had been struck by a bus.

The woman was allegedly in the process of crossing the road when she was hit, however the exact circumstances are still under investigation, police said.

The bus driver, who stopped after the crash, was subjected to a random breath test which returned a negative result.

The woman was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries.
