Woman allegedly kidnapped, found locked in storage unit

A woman has been charged after she allegedly kidnapped another woman before locking her inside a storage unit in Perth.

Police allege the 49-year-old woman drove the victim from Perth to a residence in South Perth where she then locked her inside the storage unit on Thursday.

“Medical staff who had been looking after the victim quickly contacted police with concerns for her welfare and a police investigation commenced,” police said in a statement.

A search warrant was then executed on a South Perth home where they located the victim, a 63-year-old woman, a few hours after she was taken.

Her alleged kidnapper has been charged with Deprivation of Liberty.

She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on August 3.
