Woman arrested and charged over death of Queensland police officer

Queensland police have finally arrested the woman who’s believed to have been driving the car that killed an officer in Brisbane over the weekend.

Senior Constable David Masters died when he was struck just after 3.00 am in Burpengary early on Saturday morning.

A 24-year-old Morayfield woman was arrested at a home in Upper Caboolture a short time later, believed to have been the passenger in the stolen car.

The 33-year-old alleged driver remained on the run, with police urging her to come forward earlier this week.

The Caboolture woman handed herself in overnight and has now been charged with murder, arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Her bail was refused and she’s due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court today.
