Woman arrested as police crack down on unlawful prostitution in SE Qld

A WOMAN has been charged with unlawful prostitution as part of a major police operation targeting non-compliant advertising for prostitution in south east Queensland.

The 25-year-old woman, from Brisbane, was arrested after officers executed a search warrant at an apartment complex on Hercules Street in Hamilton on Monday and Tuesday.

The woman has been charged with engaging in prostitution through an unlawful prostitution business and possess tainted property.

She’s due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 26.

Police say two other people are assisting with enquiries.

“Investigations are ongoing and further arrests are expected,” Qld police said in a statement.

Operation Quebec Ravens began in August 2016 to detect and identify those involved in illegal prostitution and to disrupt their illegal activities and dismantle their illegal networks.
