Woman arrested following pursuit in Tweed Heads

A YOUNG woman was arrested after allegedly damaging a Police car during a pursuit at Tweed Heads on Monday night.

Around 11.30pm, police attempted to stop a white Ford Falcon sedan travelling north on the Pacific Highway at Minjungbal Drive.

After the female driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit ensued to Panorama Drive.


The car then allegedly collided with the front of a stationary police car, before speeding off again.

Following investigations, police located the car and the 20-year-old female driver at a park near Riviera Avenue.

The woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where she was charged with police pursuit drive dangerously (Skye’s Law), unlicensed driver, stolen motor vehicle, failed to exchange particulars of a collision, and not keep left of dividing line.

She was granted conditional bail, to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today (Tuesday 10 June 2014).

Police continue their investigations into the incident.
