Woman arrested for perjury on the Gold Coast

DETECTIVES have arrested a 47-year-old woman on the Gold Coast after investigations into an incident that occurred on March 24, 2013.

Police will allege the woman was present at a Gold Coast residence where a man was seriously assaulted and a woman was shot.

Investigations by members of the Gold Coast Major & Organised Crime Squad and Task Force Maxima consequently lead to the arrest of three men, including a former member of the Finks Criminal Motorcycle Gang, on a variety of serious offences including grievous bodily harm, torture, and deprivation of liberty.


It will be further alleged investigations at the time lead to the accused giving evidence in a crime and misconduct investigative hearing. It will be alleged the accused gave false testimony in this hearing.

‘Today’s arrest sends the message that the passage of time does not impact on our resolve – we will be relentless in our pursuit of offenders,” Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Taskforce Maxima said.

“It should tell those willing to lie to protect the criminal gang members there are serious consequences for doing so.

“It is time for people to realise, if you involve yourself with the activities of criminal gangs you will be targeted,” Detective Inspector Smith said.

The woman is due to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on March 26.
