Woman bashed, burnt with cigarette by ex-partner in horror home invasion

A MAN has allegedly bashed his former partner and used her as a human ashtray in a shocking domestic violence attack at a home in Sydney’s north.

Police say the 29-year-old forced his way inside his former partner’s home on Beacon Hill Road at Beacon Hill around 9pm on Monday.

Once inside the house, the man is alleged to have viciously attacked the 31-year-old woman before stealing her property and fleeing the scene.

Police say the woman was left swollen and covered in scratches, bruises, and burns from a lit cigarette.

Following inquiries, the woman’s former partner was arrested by police on Tuesday afternoon.

Police confirmed he was also wanted on an outstanding warrant relating to a robbery that occurred last year.

In a statement released this afternoon, police said the man had been charged on the outstanding warrant, as well as ‘specially aggravated break and enter and commit a serious indictable offence’, and ‘steal from person’.

He was refused bail and due to appear before Manly Local Court today.
