Woman bitten by snake at Gold Coast home

A woman has been hospitalised after a reported snake bite in her Broadbeach Waters home.

Paramedics were called to the residence after a woman in her 30s was bitten on the leg by a snake just after 7pm last night.

She was transported to Gold Coast University hospital, thankfully in a stable condition.

It is not yet known what species the snake was that bit the woman.

Last year, there were 872 snake bites in Queensland in total.

Whereas this year, figures released in April showed there have already been 370 bites recorded in the state.
